American Hero T Shirt was created from the inspiration that came from reading the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell.
The book is the account of a team of four Navy SEAL’s who were dropped into the Afghanistan mountains in June of 2005. Their mission, called Operation Red Wing, was to capture or kill a notorious al Qaeda leader. Less than twenty-four hours later, only one of those SEAL’s remained alive.
This is Marcus’ story of the men who fought ferociously by his side until he was the last one left.
According to the American Hero creator, this is the only book that he has read that when he started on page one, he did not put the book down until the very last page. Inspiration overcame him and he immediately thought to himself, “I have to do something to honor the brave souls that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!”.
American Hero T Shirt was born and was launched on July 4th weekend of 2011. The very first design that was created was the Never Forget- Operation Red Wing tribute shirt and it still continues to be one of our hottest sellers.
Of course not all of our shirt designs have been a hit. We have a process to test our designs with our Facebook fans before we launch them. Once a new design is created we post it on our Facebook page to get fan feedback, which we value a great deal. If the overwhelming reply is good, the design is launched and placed on the website for sale. If the feedback is not so great we either do a re-design or scrap it all together.
The inspiration behind our shirt designs is the American soldier…past, present, and future and of course all of our fallen heroes! Our quest is to create unique one-of-a-kind patriotic designs as well as military memorial/tribute designs that American’s can be inspired by and proud to wear!
American Hero T Shirt is proud to also be partnered with Fallen Warrior Foundation, a Kansas-based non-profit charity, whose mission is to provide support and assistance to surviving spouses and children of fallen military soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice during combat. For every one of these patriotic shirts that is purchased, American Hero will donate $5 to military charities that help our wounded warriors, families of our fallen, and homeless vets.
